Who we are: The Colorado Health and Physical Education Council is a collaborative network of district leaders committed to elevating Health and Physical Education across Colorado and beyond.
We exist to support educators through high-quality, standards-based professional learning that directly impacts student outcomes. Our work is grounded in best practices and focused on strengthening instruction, not just sharing activities.
We believe that meaningful Health and Physical Education goes develops the whole child through intentional instruction that supports physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Our goal is to empower educators with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to create learning experiences that truly matter for students
What we do: Through collaboration with educators, health professionals, and community stakeholders, we design and facilitate professional learning experiences that model what effective Health and Physical Education should look like in practice.
Through our Colorado Summit and ongoing collaboration, we:
- Provide standards-aligned professional development rooted in best practices
- Focus on instructional strategies over isolated activities, ensuring learning transfers to the classroom
- Emphasize learning goals, assessment, student voice, inclusion, and teacher growth
- Support presenters in delivering intentional, high-quality learning experiences through coaching and preparation
- Create engaging professional learning that is active, relevant, and directly connected to teaching and learning
We are committed to making professional learning accessible, meaningful, and impactful, ensuring every educator walks away better equipped to support their students.
