About me
Savannah McCay is an Advanced Program Specialist with the Responsible Sex Education Institute, where she works to foster inclusive educational environments in which both children and adults can develop and thrive. She began her career in upper elementary education and later helped launch a K–12 nonprofit, project‑based learning school, where she built and led both upper school and high school programs and supported educators in shifting to project‑based pedagogy. During her time in school leadership, Savannah played a key role in launching school‑wide sexual health education, working closely with staff and families to select a comprehensive curriculum and serving as a representative for sexual health education across the school community. In her current role, her work focuses on professional learning for youth‑serving adults and designing and facilitating programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Across both her past and present work, Savannah brings deep experience navigating sexual health education amid differing perspectives, centering transparency, trust, and respect.
